For prescription wearers looking for a sports style frame there are two main options: optical inserts and sports style (RX compatible) frames.
Optical inserts: models that take optical inserts are usually a less expensive and quicker option and many models sold with optical inserts are interchangeable so you have the benefit of using different lens colours. They are a good option for people that also use contact lenses as you can remove the optical insert when wearing contact lenses. However the optical can be visible from the front, will sit closer to the eyes and may restrict peripheral vision so they don’t suit everyone.
Prescription (RX compatible) frames: with a sports frame designed to take prescription lenses you will need to choose one lens colour/tint; it can also take longer to make up the prescription lenses and for most active sports a polycarbonate impact resistant, shatterproof prescription lens will be required which is more expensive.
