Mirror Sunglasses
Sunglasses featured have a mirror finish with the base lens colour usually being ‘smoke’, which is similar to grey but can have a brown or blue hue. Whilst primarily for cosmetic effect, a mirror lens coating reflects sunlight, further limiting light exposure. See bottom of the page for more information about mirror lenses.

Mirror and mirror-revo are coatings applied to the front of the lens (usually applied to a base ‘smoke’ lens). Mirror coatings can come in a wide variety of colours. The term ‘revo’ usually applies when the mirror has more than one colour e.g. red-orange. Whilst mirror coatings are often chosen for their cosmetic effect they also limit glare and increase the filtering power – this can block an additional 10-60% of visible light entering the lens for greater comfort in bright light and full-sun conditions. As they limit light exposure that could cause photokeratitis (snow blindness) on bright, sunny days they are often chosen for snow sports and mountain climbing or wherever there is intense sunlight/high glare. They are also a good choice when you’re on the beach: white sands can nearly double UV exposure as the sun reflects off the surface.
