Stop the fog
9th July 2018
With the long hot spell of weather being experienced here in the UK anyone that’s out about taking part in their sport will probably have experienced fogging of their sports eyewear. This happens when the air near the lens is cooled by the lens resulting in the relative humidity of the surrounding air rapidly increasing. As air cools it looses it’s ability to carry water vapour. Once the relative humidity reaches near 100%, water will begin to collect on the lens. Even in fairly dry air, if the temperature difference is great enough you will get lens fogging. The closer fitting the eyewear the more prone they are to fogging. Fortunately there are now some really good anti-fog solutions available – we probably stock more options than anyone else with no less than seven different ones to choose from in our accessories section. Our best seller is this great little pocket anti-fog spray made by anti-fog specialists Klar Pilot in Germany.
