Prescription Sunglasses
We believe that the best option for the prescription lens wearer looking for a sports style and sports performance sunglass is to choose a model with optical inserts (these clip behind the frame of the sunglasses). Have a look at Loubsol and we also have a Bollé model (Swiftkick) and two Evolution models (Escape and Escape 2) available with optical inserts. This is the most straight-forward solution because all you need do is take the optical insert to your usual opticians and have prescription lenses put in the insert. Please click on the left hand link - Prescription Options - to see our current models with optical inserts.
For some sunglass brands we sell, such as Bollé, Serengeti, Silhouette and Sundog, prescription options are available on many of their models but to special order. In this instance the best option is to choose a model and then call or email us and we can advise accordingly. If we are able to order a model with a prescription lens we will need to have a copy of your prescription. If you don't have your prescription your optician should make it available to you but there may be a charge. Alternatively, you will need to go to your local optician and have your eyes tested. Following the eye test, your optician should make a copy of your prescription available and you are not obliged to purchase your sunglasses from them. Please ask your optician to include your PD (pupillary distance) measurement in your prescription.
