Sunglasses For Sport is sponsoring Marco Nannini Ocean Racing headed up by top sailing duo Marco Nannini and Paul Peggs. Marco, Paul and the rest of the crew are competing in the Global Ocean Race which will start on September 25th 2011 from Palma, Mallorca.

Marco and Paul are a proven team with a real chance to take a podium position in the GOR 2011/2012. Last year they led the Shetland Round Britain and Ireland race for 3 out of the 5 legs and were 2nd overall at the finish.

We're pleased to announce that we have added BLOC to our range of brands on offer. BLOC were one of the first pioneers of sports sunglasses and eyewear in the UK and from the outset revolutionised the British sports eyewear market with high performance eyewear at affordable prices. Ski enthusiasts heading to the slopes this winter are reminded of the importance of wearing high quality sunglasses or goggles with a UV400 rating – the risk of damage to the eyes by harmful UVR is far greater at altitude.

If you are heading to the slopes this winter one part of your ski kit that you cannot afford to be without is good quality sunglasses or goggles – these eliminate solar ultraviolet radiation (UVR), in particular the more damaging UVB radiation.  A study undertaken by Japanese scientists revealed that eyes can receive up to 2.5 times more UV on mountains than at sea level.  Even when the eyes are turned away from the sun, they can still get over 85 per cent more UV on snow.  This can cause conditions such as snow blindness, which can lead to inflammation and cataracts.

Just launched onto the UK market are the stylish new high performance Salice 006 and 814 two-lens interchangeable models.  Aimed at cyclists and triathletes they are now available from specialist sports eyewear online retailer, Sunglasses For Sport Ltd.
